In early 1990,
Greg Coontz and John Neill, long time
friends and former classmates at Burleson
High School, opened the doors of their new
law firm. They welcomed almost any client
who walked in, paying or not. The Firm, then
known as Coontz & Neill, survived, then
prospered, and in just the next few years
became one of the most successful litigation
and trial law firms in its region.
In 1995, the Firm built and moved into its
present building. Greg Coontz became Board
Certified (by the Texas Board of Legal
Specialization) in both Personal Injury
Trial Law and Civil Trial Law. John Neill
developed a Family Law practice that became
one of the best known in Tarrant and Johnson
Counties.
In December 1998, then Texas Governor George
W. Bush appointed John Neill Judge of the
18th District Court of Johnson County, Texas
(Judge Neill continues to preside, with
distinction, over the 18th District Court
today.). The Firm changed its name to The
Law Office of J. Greg Coontz and continued
its successful litigation practice.
Jeff Cochran
joined the Firm in 1999. The Firm continued
to enjoy great success. In 2005, Jeff
Cochran became a partner and the Firm's name
changed to Coontz Cochran.
Today, Coontz Cochran continues to handle
various types of cases. They have the passion, expertise, resources,
and technology that are critical to the
successful prosecution of such cases.
However, the Firm's lawyers also handle
complex Family and Domestic Relations cases,
as well as Oil & Gas, General Civil, and
Business Litigation matters.
